Luxury and mega yachts

During the past decade, luxury and mega yachts have become hugely popular. While the Caribbean has been a long-time favorite, the Mediterranean is nothing short of a hot-spot too.

Luxury and mega yachts have become very popular during the past decade and except in the Caribbean they can be mostly found in the Mediterranean, i.e., the Adriatic sea in Croatia. Kaiser Yachting offers boat rental of luxury boats and mega yachts for individual cruises with private crew which is ideal for clients who want to be free to enjoy their vacation, without having to worry about cooking, cleaning or other daily chores.

All yachts more than 30 meters long (more than 100 ft long) with professional equipment today are called luxury or super yachts although as a term luxury and mega yachts appeared in the early 20 ct., when the establishment started producing such vessels for personal use.

Due to strong interest in this type of vessel, a lot of new manufacturers and trade representatives of luxury and mega yachts, like our company, have appeared over time. At the very top of the list of yacht manufacturers in Europe today one finds brands such as Ferretti, Azimut, AzimutBenetti, Sunseeker, or, say, Lürssen.
One of the most characteristic things about luxury or mega yachts is that they don't have their own dock so their owners must register in the port of the state under whose flag they sail. Large yachts usually remain in the dock as long as it is necessary for the crew to maintain them, or until their owner or guests arrive, after which a short trip usually follows. In summer and winter mega yachts make a round between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean and the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean are Porto Fino, Porto Cervo, Cannes, Antibes, St Tropez and Monte Carlo. When it comes to exhibitions, the main port in the Caribbean, Antigua, has it in early winter season, while in France one of the most popular exhibitions in the Mediterranean takes place in April in the Antibes. Though today mega yachts are probably the most numerous type of luxury ship one finds around, there are more and more yachts that are more than 328 feet long, so called giga yachts, which represent the most extravagat 'niche' among luxury yachts since many giga yachts have indoor pools, a small submarine, or a landing field for helicopters.
